Thank you to everyone for making our new office/entrance successful.  It has made the playground more secure and we now have a ‘main’ entrance for our school.  The new signs will be arriving next week.

Parents Evening

Parents evening is on Tuesday 6th March and Thursday 8th March.  Appointment slips will be sent out after half term.

75th Anniversary of Uplands Manor

The school is 75 years old this year.  It was officially opened on 29th January 1932 and the first children came into school on 5th February, so we are celebrating next week.  Many parents and grandparents have attended the school and we would like to collect your memories of our school over the years.  If you have any photographs or newspaper cuttings about the school, please can you send them in for our display.  We will return any photographs back to you.

We are thinking about the changes over the decades since the school opened.  We are learning dances from the different decades and we would like to invite you to our ‘Dance Festival’ on Thursday 8th February at 1.45 p.m.

We are holding an Open Day on Friday 9th February. Ex pupils and parents are invited from 9.30 a.m. to come and visit the school.  We already have one of the first girls to start in the school, Anne Woodhouse.

To make this a special day the children can dress up as a child of the past in ‘Old Fashioned Uniform’. Below is an illustration of a typical 1930’s and 1960’s uniform to give you some ideas.
