Many of you know Megan is in hospital. she‘s still very poorly but she is responding to medical treatment. Her parents thank everyone for the concern shown. We are still collecting towards ‘Megan’s Wish’.

Parents’ Evening

Thank you to all our parents who attended parents’ evening last week. If you couldn’t manage to come along, Please see your child’s class teacher and hopefully you can arrange another appointment.

Car Boot Sale

Unfortunately, due to lack of interest this has been cancelled.

Staffing

A warm welcome back to Mrs. Walsh who has returned from maternity leave and will be working 2 days a week with infant children,

Book Fair

This is in school until Thursday 23rd March. It is open each day after school. Children can buy books for as little as €1.00.

Holiday Dates

School closes on Friday 7th April for Easter at 3.15 p.m. and re-opens on Monday 24th April at 8.50 a.m.

Easter assembly

This is to be held on Thursday 6 April at
9.30 a.m. for pupils only.

Decorate an Egg Competition

Junior children are asked to decorate an egg. The completed eggs need to be in school on Wednesday 5th April. Prizes will be awarded at the Easter Assembly. (Please remember to hard boil the eggs!!).

Easter Bonnet Parade

The infant children are having an Easter Bonnet Parade at 9.30 am, on Wednesday 5th April in the upstairs hail. Everyone is welcome to come along. Please help your child to make a bonnet at home for this event.

Bonnets should be brought into school in a plastic bag, clearly label led with his/her name.

Attendance Award Assembly

This is for pupils only, and will take place on

Friday 7th April at 9.30 a.m. Hayley Price, British Gymnastic Champion will be presenting the awards. Our congratulations go to all our pupils who have gained Bronze and Silver Awards.

Sponsored—Event

We are holding a Sponsored Gymnastics Event with the British Gymnastics Team on Tuesday •4th April, to raise money for school. We will be sending out a letter on Friday giving further details.

SATS Dates

SATS dates are 8th12th May 2006. Please ensure pupils, particularly Year 2 and Year 6 are in school during these important weeks.

Express & Star

Thank you to you all for collecting these vouchers. To date we have collected 180,000.
-The closing date is Monday 27th March. If you still have any at home can you bring them into school.

We have received some sad news that Mr. Hubbard, the ex Head teacher of Uplands Junior School died suddenly in the early hours of Monday morning 2O’ March 2006. The funeral is on Friday 31st March at 12 noon at Gornal Wood Crematorium and afterwards at Himley Cricket Club. Anyone wishing to pass on wishes of condolence, please contact Mrs. Douglass or Mrs. Fowler.
