New Reception Office
Our new reception office is almost ready for use. It will give one main access point into school and will make the school more secure. Thank you all for your patience during the building work.
Teacher Training Day
School will be closed on Monday 4th December for a Teacher Training Day.

Parent Helpers
We are looking for any parents to help us out listening to children read. For further details please see Miss Sherlock.
Children In Need
We will be taking part in this years BBC’s Children In Need Appeal on Friday 17th November. To help raise money for this charity we will be having a ‘non-uniform day’. If children wish to come to school in clothes of their choice which are suitable for school, we are asking for a donation of 50p.
Also throughout the day ‘Pudsy’ Face Painting will be available at a cost of 30p per child
Healthy Lunchboxes
We have a supply of books written for parents by parents, giving you help and advice you need to provide quick, healthy packed lunches. If you would like to buy a copy, books are available from the school office at a cost of £1.50.
SATs
Sats dates are 14th-18th May 2007
Please ensure pupils particularly Year 2 and Year 6 are in school during these important weeks.
Put an end to LOST Uniform
You will receive with this newsletter an order form for iron-on labels for school uniform. Every order placed will generate a donation for our school funds.
Attendance
The Department for Education requirement is for schools to achieve good attendance figures. The target for Uplands Manor Primary School is 94% and above. In the 1st half term 396 children achieved 94% or above. Well done.
You will be receiving a letter from the Chair of Governors and a publication from the DFes regarding attendance.
Blue Peter Shoebiz Appeal
It’s Shoetime! This year’s appeal is raising money for UNICEF to help thousands of children in Malawi. The aim is to raise more than £500,000 to provide vital care and support for these children to help them have brighter futures and we need your help; if you have any old or unwanted shoes, could you please bring them into your child’s class teacher. Many thanks.
Reception Model Making
Reception will be making models next week. If you have any cardboard boxes, pringle tubes, foil cake cases or egg boxes, these would be gratefully received.
