In South Smethwick there are 6 schools along with a SureStart and Library that are working together as a cluster to achieve being an extended service. They are:
Abbey Infants
Annie Lennards Infants
Bearwood Primary
St Gregory’s Catholic Primary
Uplands Manor Primary
Uplands SureStart
Thimblemill Library
As a cluster we have called ourselves VENTURE and have specific workers in the schools and centres to ensure we provide the right service for the people in the community.
Some events that we have supported are:
Spring Watch
Drug awareness events
First aid talks- Heart start
Speakers from different faiths
Assemblies on different topics
‘Keeping up with the kid’ numeracy
School nurse talks on different topics
And many more…
To keep everyone up to date we publish a Termly Newsletter to celebrate success, promote up and coming events and keep people up to date.
To find out more about Venture or Extended services you can speak to the Head teacher or your Community Champion in your school or centre
